What Happens in Pneumonia Diagnosed Signs and symptoms Treated

What is Pneumonia?
Pneumonia is an infection or inflammation of your lungs. An infection can be caused by bacteria, virus, fungi and
other microbes.Inhaling dust, chemical irritants, food or vomit can also cause an inflammation of the lungs.

What Happens in Pneumonia?
In pneumonia, the air sacs in the lungs are filled with pus and other liquid.Oxygen has trouble reaching your
blood. If there is too little oxcygen in your blood, your body cells cannot work properly.Because of this, and
spreading infection through the body, pneumonia can be a serious problem.

How Does one get Pneumonia?
Many of the germ are normally found in your throat.if your immune system(body's system to fight germ) is weak, the germ can enter and multiply in your lungs.'Double pneumonia'means that both lungs are infected it can follow

influenza(flu) a cold or be linked to other illness.

What is the Signs and symptoms?
There are many symptoms of pneumonia, and some of them, like a cough or a sore throat, are associated with many other common infections, often ,People get pneumonia after they have had an upper respiratory tract infection like a cold.

Symptoms of Pneumonia can include:
  • Fever and chills
  • Muscle aches and fatigueCough
  • Unusually rapid laboured breathing
  • Wheezing
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chest or abdominal pain
  • Loss of appetite
  • Exhaustion
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Sore throat

the symptoms of pneumonia vary from person to person, and few people experience all of them. When pmeumonia is caused by bacteria, the person tends to become sick quickly and develops a high grade fever and has difficulty braething .When it is caused by a virus, symptoms generally appear more gradually and may be less severe.

How is Pneumonia Diagnosed?
If a doctor suspects that a person has pneumonia,he or she will perform a physical examination and may prescribe a chest X-ray and blood tests.

How is Pneumonia Treated?

People who have bacterial or atypical pneumonia will probably be given antibiotics to take at home.A Doctor will also recommend that a person gets lots of rest and drinks plenty of fluids.

Some people with pneumonia need to be hospitalised to get better-usually babies and young children and people older than 65.However,even a teen may need hospital care depending on the severity of the symptoms.

Pharmacology Therapy of Pneumonia

The case of pneumonia caused by bacteria, less severe cases are cured with oral medication administered at home and the most dangerous conditions are usually treated in hospitals for intravenous antibiotics if complications such as respiratory problems or other diseases partners. In the case of viral pneumonia, there is no actual treatment but medication for relieving the signs and symptoms of infection are required.

The choice of doctor for your particular treatment depends on different clinical experience and possible resistance to certain types of antibiotics. All cases of lung diseases are diagnosed after a complete record of medical history, physical examination, chest radiography and laboratory tests of samples of sputum, urine and blood tissue. Before the exact cause of pneumonia is known, symptomatic treatment is required when the doctor has determined whether a virus, fungus or bacteria is responsible for his illness, he will prescribe specific medication for you.

The most common therapy for previous healthy patients, but cured with (Pharmacology)antibiotics before or no ant biotherapy in the last three months usually consists of the following medications:

1. Macrolide antibiotics such as doxycycline, Clarythromicyne, Azythromicin or erythromycin.

2. Fluorochinolones as levofloxacin, moxifloxacin or gatifloxacin

3. A macrolide combined with amoxicillin

4. Combined with a macrolide Augumentin

The therapy of patients with other related conditions like diabetes, cancer or heart failure differ from case to case:

1. Macrolides such as azithromycin or clarithromycin

2. Fluoroquinolones such as levofloxacin, moxifloxacin or gatifloxacin

3. A macrolide combined with amoxicillin, Augmentin, cefpodoxime, cefprozil and cefuroxime.

In cases of severe pneumonia requiring hospitalization, patients were given intravenous antibiotics and oxygen therapy associated to assist breathing difficulties. The most common type of pneumonia is caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae and can be cured usually within 5-10 days of ant biotherapy. The period of remission of the infection may be prolonged if pneumonia is caused by more aggressive bacteria like Pseudomonas or Legionella, fungi, or if recovery is compromised by other medical conditions.

It is always important to take the full course of medication prescribed by a doctor and not only until symptoms disappear. Otherwise, you may blame the bacteria resistant to antibiotics have and cause more serious happening again in the future, in this case, the seed no longer respond to the previous administration of antibiotics and cures to be hardened.

Early Symptoms of Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs caused by a virus or bacterium, but, fortunately, from the discovery of antibiotics can be cured easily, especially if detected early. But can still be dangerous for the elderly or those with a weak defense.

The symptoms of pneumonia usually depend on their cause, but most patients with cough, fever and chest pain. These symptoms occur in all patients with pneumonia, no matter what caused it.

Over half of pneumonia cases are caused by viruses. In this case, the pneumonia is called viral pneumonia. symptoms of viral pneumonia are:

Chest pain accompanied by headache and fever

“The cough is dry

The patient experiences a general feeling of weakness and exhaustion

Some pneumonias are caused by bacteria. In this case the most common symptoms that occur are:

“A general feeling of cold, which causes tremors and rapid heartbeat

“High fever

“A bluish skin color

“The cough produces a green liquid

Pneumonia affects mostly elderly and children. The elderly often have viral or bacterial pneumonia, while those who are under 40 years old and suffering from pneumonia, most of which have mycoplasma pneumonia. This form is very contagious, once affected a family member will soon affect the other also. It is not as dangerous as the first two forms, but can cause serious complications if left untreated. Common symptoms of mycoplasma pneumonia are:

dry cough and fever

-Sore throat

“A general feeling of weakness and fatigue

“Joint pain

When pneumonia affecting children that causes a sensation disturbing the disease and also causes the skin to become slightly blue. The child has high fever and difficulty breathing.

If you have two or more symptoms of pneumonia call your doctor as soon as possible, because the disease causes serious complications if left untreated. If you start coughing up blood, then it means that the disease has progressed and needs immediate treatment. If the disease is caught early can be treated at home with a few antibiotics, but if not, then the patient requires hospitalization.

Pneumonia Sign and Symptoms Treatment

Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lung parenchyma that is caused by a microbial agent. “Pneumonitis” is a more general term that describes an inflammatory process in the lung tissue that may predispose a patient to or place a patient at risk for microbial invasion.

Sign and symptoms

Most people who develop pneumonia initially have symptoms of a cold (upper respiratory infection, for example, sneezing, sore throat, cough), which are then followed by a high fever (sometimes as high as 104 F), shaking chills, and a cough with sputum production. The sputum is usually discolored and sometimes bloody. Depending on the location of the infection, certain symptoms are more likely to develop. When the infection settles in the air passages, cough and sputum tend to predominate the symptoms. In some, the spongy tissue of the lungs that contain the air sacs is more involved. In this case, oxygenation can be impaired, along with stiffening of the lung, which results in shortness of breath. At times, the individual's skin color may change and become dusky or purplish (a condition known as "cyanosis") due to their blood being poorly oxygenated.

The only pain fibers in the lung are on the surface of the lung, in the area known as the pleura. Chest pain may develop if the outer aspects of the lung close to the pleura are involved. This pain is usually sharp and worsens when taking a deep breath and is known as pleuritic pain or pleurisy. In other cases of pneumonia, depending on the causative organism, there can be a slow onset of symptoms. A worsening cough, headaches, and muscle aches may be the only symptoms.

Children and babies who develop pneumonia often do not have any specific signs of a chest infection but develop a fever, appear quite ill, and can become lethargic. Elderly people may also have few symptoms with pneumonia.

Treatment for Pneumonia
The treatment of this inflammatory condition in varies according to the extent of infection. When detected early this can be treated from home and immunity needs no hospitalisation. Commonly used vaccines for pneumonia contain non-active bacteria or virus which enhances. The selection of an appropriate antibody is important. Home therapy involves few basic steps such as drinking lot of fluids and chest therapy.
