Pharmacology Therapy of Pneumonia

The case of pneumonia caused by bacteria, less severe cases are cured with oral medication administered at home and the most dangerous conditions are usually treated in hospitals for intravenous antibiotics if complications such as respiratory problems or other diseases partners. In the case of viral pneumonia, there is no actual treatment but medication for relieving the signs and symptoms of infection are required.

1. Macrolides such as azithromycin or clarithromycin

2. Fluoroquinolones such as levofloxacin, moxifloxacin or gatifloxacin

3. A macrolide combined with amoxicillin, Augmentin, cefpodoxime, cefprozil and cefuroxime.

In cases of severe pneumonia requiring hospitalization, patients were given intravenous antibiotics and oxygen therapy associated to assist breathing difficulties. The most common type of pneumonia is caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae and can be cured usually within 5-10 days of ant biotherapy. The period of remission of the infection may be prolonged if pneumonia is caused by more aggressive bacteria like Pseudomonas or Legionella, fungi, or if recovery is compromised by other medical conditions.

It is always important to take the full course of medication prescribed by a doctor and not only until symptoms disappear. Otherwise, you may blame the bacteria resistant to antibiotics have and cause more serious happening again in the future, in this case, the seed no longer respond to the previous administration of antibiotics and cures to be hardened.
